This thrilling nature escape takes you to Sapadere Canyon, a breathtaking natural wonder carved by millennia of glacial movements, offering crystal-clear waters, dramatic cliffs, and lush greenery. It's the perfect blend of adventure and relaxation for nature lovers.
Your journey begins with a comfortable drive of approximately 40km from Alanya, passing through picturesque landscapes of Gazipasa, Mersin, and Demirtas, until you reach the tranquil village of Sapadere. This untouched spot is a haven of original flora and fauna and embodies the serene pace of local life. You'll observe local trades, such as silk production, a common activity due to the abundance of Mulberry trees attracting silkworms in the area.
Just about 3km from Sapadere village lies the magnificent Sapadere Canyon, a stunning example of glacial erosion. Spanning 750 meters in length and reaching heights of 400 meters, this natural site is a spectacle to behold. Take advantage of the 300 meters of wooden walkways constructed right into the heart of the canyon, allowing you to get up close and personal with the powerful waterfalls. The spray from the numerous waterfalls will offer a refreshing respite from the summer heat, and you'll even have the opportunity to take a dip in one of the calming pools (though be prepared, as the water rarely exceeds 12 degrees Celsius!).
The canyon is home to numerous bird species and local wildlife, making it feel like stepping into another world. Besides the cascading waterfalls, you'll also explore local caves, including the famous Dwarves Cave, known for its impressive stalactites and stalagmites spanning over 170 meters in length (entry fee to Dwarves Cave is separate).
Following this beautiful natural experience, the group will enjoy a delicious traditional lunch of fish and chicken at a local restaurant, resting under the shade of trees. This authentic meal is included in your tour price, providing a perfect conclusion before your comfortable journey back to Alanya.
